Aug 19th is Qixi, Chinese Valentine’s Day (Lunar July 7th). It celebrates the romantic legend of a cowherd and a weaver girl, who can only meet once a year on a magpie bridge.
They were separated by the vast Milky Way, so magpies flew together to make a bridge for them to cross over. How romantic! Every time when I look up at the starry night, I’m awed how much love can find its way, even outrun time and space, cast its magic spell beyond earthly dimensions.
