Pinecone

During our hike in the mountains, we were enjoying the precious sun, soaking up the shortened daylight. A huge rock by the trail caught my eyes with its colorful formation, green and red, and moss in-between, I was just amazed by copper and iron colors, and years of nature all recorded on this geological profile. Suddenly, a loud thump! A huge pinecone dropped on the ground from at least a 40 feet tall tree that we just walked by. I checked, there’s no squirrel, so it’s not a warning from a furry friend not to intrude, purely nature doing its thing. That sized pinecone flying down 40 feet, anyone being hit would need to have a quick detour to the hospital.

We are lucky, one step away, one step ahead. Everything is arriving on schedule.
