Yesterday I walked in the mountains, right in-between storms, cold and cloudy, not a popular time for hiking. As reward, I got the mountain all to myself. The moment I stepped on the soft ground, a little damp and covered with thick leaves, I could feel the sleeping mountain underneath, deep and calm, the energy building up deep underground. It’s time for restoration and recovery. I feel deeply connected with mother earth, every plant, every seed; even the mountain is asleep and has gone into deep restful mode. What a wise reminder: deep rest to reach deeper energy when spring is here.
Turning around I saw the big tree with branches framed like a window, where I could peek at the sleeping mountain with rhythmic breathing.
