Every Camera Takes Different Pictures

I was admiring a poet from 1000 years ago, awed by what a beautiful world he lived in. Then I realized in his time, there was no electricity, nor heater or air conditioner, not even automobiles, most of the time had to travel on foot or at most by horse carriage. But he can live in such a beautiful world! Why?

It’s not the living condition that makes the world beautiful; it’s the capacity of heart. How much can we take in? A famous writer used to write about trees outside her home, how they shaped so artistically into a landscape. Her writing attracted many fans to come and admire the trees, and they were only disappointed to find out that they were just ordinary trees, like in any neighborhood. But to the writer she could see such miracles in the ordinary, which others couldn’t. It’s not the tree, but the person, every camera takes different pictures.

When your heart is closed, your world is shut in the cocoon of whatever you sewed for yourself, locked in to keep yourself busy, mentally and physically.  In a way we put ourselves in a cell, keep ourselves occupied so we don’t have to think, or feel outside ourselves.

Actually how much space you have in your heart, decides how much space you can embrace outside. Even cooking a meal, hanging laundry, walking in neighborhood…don’t miss out on life. There’s poetry in everything, if you have the rhyme in your heart.
