Party

I was invited to a party, a totally different social circle and background. I was nervous to accept, what to talk about, hesitating… I went after all, and enjoyed the party very much. Meeting people from different backgrounds is like opening up different horizons, there’s so much more to talk about beyond our comfort zone. That was the first party I attended since the pandemic, I noticed that I almost forgot how to party and socialize. Sometimes I caught myself walking away from people, or running out of topics… but once I catch the flow, I can swim with the current. I started to realize the fun is not what we talk about, but the communication itself, through verbal or body language. The connection makes the heart soft and the rest carry on its own. It’s a privilege of being alive, being recognized, echoed and resonated. I enjoyed the experience so much, because I picked up something I thought I’ve lost.

Today when I told a friend how much I enjoyed this party, the first one since pandemic, he was shocked, “Where have you been?” “Hibernating” I said jokingly.  “You will hibernate forever at some point, so enjoy life while you’re not.” What a wise reminder: Live more!
