On my jog today I noticed a few different things: the house that is already set up for Halloween got updated, the displays are getting taller. Before, it was tarantula down to earth and a life-sized clown covering his face with motion-sensor hands movement; now it’s a tree height witch with an even taller broomstick shooting up to the sky. I get tickled every time I pass their front yard, always finding something new. Halloween is still over a month away, how much more they are going to decorate?
Then I pass a yard with kid’s little trampoline, instead of kids, cats are enjoying the bed. I’m glad they can appreciate this human invention.
Next I pass my “time out” bench, but it’s gone. I looked around, it’s moved from the street to their porch, time out became time in, I guess.
Even though I jog the same route every time, but it’s never the same. I totally understand what the ancient Greek philosopher Heraclitus meant by: “You never bathe in the same river twice”.
