When Eyes Are Closed

I just finished my morning jog and the morning sun was so attempting, I sat in the backyard and closed my eyes. I hear the deep soulful Oriental instrumental music playing from the house; the wind chime dinging like part of the music adding a note once in a while. I hear the low flying aircraft flying in between the clouds; bees are buzzing around my ears. Birds are chirping on the neighbor’s tree. There are so many layers of sounds I missed before. The breeze brought in the hidden fragrance of osmanthus. I realized the osmanthus fragrance is playing hide and seek with me: when I am looking, she’s hiding; when I am not, she is right here, like peace of mind.

When my eyes are closed, I’m more aware that I have a body.

I opened my eyes; it’s a wonderful world and a beautiful day.
