Simple is the New Rich

I love cooking now, Baba would be proud of me.

In the book “Keep Sharp” by Sanjay Gupta, he mentioned to keep your brain sharp, one thing you can do is to plan meals ahead. That is such an obvious piece of advice yet it needs to be reintroduced. Our ancestors practiced that for hundreds years out of necessity, however now with the modern lifestyle, we need to be reminded and relearn. Of course, in ancient times if you don’t plan, you starve; but now you have so many shortcut choices to make up. Most of them save time, but sacrifice your health. Don’t trash your body, plan meals ahead, eat real food. Life is worth it, you are worth it.

Planning is part of the consideration of what is good for you ultimately. Make the plan and time to cook it is the fun part of life. Get your hands full, your mind empty. If you are looking at a new recipe, it’s a great opportunity to learn and discover something new; another stimulation for the brain. Hands-on is a great meditation for your busy mind. You focus like never before; time disappears in your hands, life comes out of it.
