May 21 is Lesser Fullness or Grain Buds, the eighth Chinese solar term according to the ancient Chinese calendar. During this term, winter wheat is becoming full but yet to ripen completely, so it is called lesser fullness. In this celebration, we cherish the portion that is full, while embracing the portion yet to be full. It’s a good reminder to live your life with a full heart, it’s what is inside your heart, not outside, that matters.
I like this celebration, as it always falls in mid May, such a beautiful time of the year, with a lot to look forward to, to fulfill that yet to be fulfilled.
