  • A Moment Like This

There will never be a moment like this: a deer walked out of the woods towards me, carrying the sun behind him, casting a magnificent silhouette of his newly grown antlers, like an angel with wings. “Hello, you are here too!” We said to each other.

  • Goose Crossing

Waiting for the red light in the middle of downtown, suddenly a goose came wobbling down the crosswalk! I was expecting to see little goslings following behind, but no, just the lone goose. She is obviously confused and lost, fortunately it’s a red light and she is safe for now. But what about when the…

  • Summer Solstice

Today is Summer Solstice, the longest daylight of the year, just for that it’s worth a celebration: to celebrate our days on earth, to celebrate the longest companionship of the sun, and the beginning of summer. This is a beautiful season: a time suitable for daydreaming; disappearing in the deeply wooded mountains; to zoom in through…

  • Party

I was invited to a party, a totally different social circle and background. I was nervous to accept, what to talk about, hesitating… I went after all, and enjoyed the party very much. Meeting people from different backgrounds is like opening up different horizons, there’s so much more to talk about beyond our comfort zone.…

  • New Conversation with an Old Friend

We went back to Columbia S.H.P in the Sierras. It has been months, last time it was cold winter and the daylight was extremely frugal. I miss the drive, as we started climbing the foothill, the horizon starts to open up, and cows are dotted on the open ranches, enjoying sunshine and the grass. Old…

  • Perfect Moment

The perfect moment is not really that perfect in reality, only you entitle it as such. The perfect moment is never near, it is always either far in the future or far in the past. Probably it’s human nature, the grass is always greener on the other side. Someone once said, what really happened doesn’t…

  • A Corner of This World

Walking in the mountain with tall trees, wind is on top, I’m under, like listening to the wind from a different world. Spring time, everything is awake and growing, birds are chirping. Tall grass fills up the valley, like a balloon filled with air, so bouncy and flowy. They sway with the gentle breeze, so…

  • Live into a Living Story

Today, I saw a quote on the back of a RV: Live a Great Story. What a concept! For this life, we are the writer, producer, director and actor. Where else can we find such an opportunity? As you are reading, I am writing, and the script is continuing.  And it’s a live show, no playback,…

  • Every Camera Takes Different Pictures

I was admiring a poet from 1000 years ago, awed by what a beautiful world he lived in. Then I realized in his time, there was no electricity, nor heater or air conditioner, not even automobiles, most of the time had to travel on foot or at most by horse carriage. But he can live in such…
