A Timeless Moment

I taught an amazing Yoga class today. It’s my usual weekly yoga class; although some of my regular patrons didn’t even show up. I was prepared for my sequencing, intermediate challenging; I noticed some people were struggling with their balance. I cheered them up and moved on. At the end, even I was tired. After Savasana, I did my little dharma talk, ” It’s Mid-Autumn day, though it looks a little cloudy, not sure if we can see the full moon tonight. With or without, you should celebrate it anyway, because it lives within in, Namaste.” Afterwards, I bowed to my fellow yogis, they all answered “namaste”. What happened afterwards wowed me: no one moved, everyone sat in their meditative pose, eyes closed, sunk deeply into the stillness, as if they were touched by magic. Someone even dropped their head down, buried in their legs. I felt jealous how deep they slipped into the zone beyond me. I closed my eyes again, drew my attention back inward. Music in the background still playing, fit into that moment just perfectly. That moment was mesmerizing. It’s like the class was on an autopilot mode, totally out of my hands.

Normally people picked up their stuff before Savasana starts, today, Savasana is way over, what happened?

Music ended, time returned, I was still awed by that moment, stunned by the miracle yoga cast in the space at that moment. I was never so overwhelmed with bliss:  A timeless moment!
