A Feathered Friend

This morning, I walked into the yard, as usual the breakfast party at the bird feeder was disturbed by my presence. All the birds flew away, the squirrels scattered. Then I saw this one little bird, perched on the apple tree. He just blinked at me, didn’t fly away. I walked a little closer, maybe he’s hurt, maybe he’s too young. Even when I was so close to zoom in, he still stayed put. I can almost touch his soft feathers, but he’s very alert, his eyes moving with me.

Maybe he’s here to greet me for a beautiful day, a reminder to stay still enough to feel the pulse of the day, an invitation to trust the flow of life.
