July 4th

It’s hard to believe July 4th is gone almost a week now. Sometimes it feels like jet leg after vacation, switching from vacation zone back to daily life.

Looking back at the pictures I took, some normal street shots from Columbia Old Town. A little boy insists on following me and being in the picture, which brought me smiles. Ripening fruit trees, apples, pears, grapes, originally planted by the gold rush pioneers, early settlers and miners during 1850’s, still glittering with nature’s glow. Those fruit trees standing strong and thriving, witnesses to the passing glory. Life is beautiful as it is fleeting.

On the way back I was pumped by those wild sunflowers bursting along the road, they thrive into part of the summer landscape, wild and vibrant. Their zest for life is invigorating and contagious.

Finally it’s getting dusk, fireworks can’t wait any longer, shooting up even during sunset. We got rewarded with a bursting glow of red sky, nature showing us that she is the true master of colors, even the car dealership looks iconic. In front of us, fireworks are pumping up here and there like mushrooms after the rain. We are surrounded by colors, red sky, neon light, colorful fireworks with dramatic soundtrack. Human world is cheering up with colors and sound, nature is joining the celebration by quietly burning the sky, that moment I feel life is full.
